Movie - Roman Holiday (1953)
Length: 119 minutes
Paramount Picture
Princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) was
a princess of an European country. She was young, beautiful, and
respectful. But she was not happy, because she was followed by her
officers, royal members, guards, reporters, and audience everywhere. She
felt herself like a puppet than a human. She was tired about her identity and
her endless task. One time in her visit to Rome, Italy, something happened
to her which changed her life forever. She ran away one night. She
met a reporter on the street, his name was Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), who came
from New York and wished for one big story to pay him back to U.S.
Princess Ann named herself Ann Smith and told Joe she was a student who escaped
from her school. When Joe found out Anya's true identity, he believed that
his wish will come true very soon. Joe brought Anya touring around
the lovely city, so she could enjoy one day of freedom. During the tour,
Joe also introduced his friend, Irving (Eddie Albert); actually Irving was asked
to take some pictures of Anya for story. In the short but exciting
adventure, Joe fell under the spell of Anya. When the adventure finally
came to the end, Joe and Anya fell in love together. They also found out
their true identity but they didn't speak of that. At last, the couple
still had to be separated. But they will never forget the enchanted
adventure until the end of their life.
