Breakfast at
Tiffany's is my favourite Audrey Hepburn's movie. It is adapted Truman
Copote's 1958 novel of the same title. The movie still charms audience
since it was released by Paramount Pictures in 1961.
Trumam Copote suggested Marilyn Monroe to play part of his lead character, Holly Golightly. Copote designed the character prefectly for Monroe because Copote adored Monroe a lot. Paramount eventually chose Hepburn instead of Monroe. They also changed the ending which Holly could find herself and the place she belongs to. However, I personally prefer Hepburn to play the part of Holly Golightly, she played perfectly. She played the character so lively. Although Monroe's background was more like to Holly's character.
I never read the novel version, but I heard it's quite different with the
movie. Especially the ending, Paul and Holly did not end up get to
together. Holly took the plane to Brazil and Paul never heard about her again.
It's also different from the novel is, the movie didn't describe Holly's job
detail (smile); as we've already known, Holly is a call girl.
