Chow Yun Fat

Chow Yun Fat was born on May 18, 1955, in Lamma Island, Hong Kong.  Chow moved with his family to Hong Kong Island in 1965.  In 1973, Chow enrolled training program for young actors which was provided by a Hong Kong TV station, TVB. After finished the program, Chow worked for TVB, Chow performed in a number of dramas.  Chow performed different kinds of role and won popularity from audience.  

Then he turned his acting on movie, but the movies were not as successful as his dramas until "A Better Tomorrow" came out in 1986.  It was a smash hit.  The success  gave Chow more chance tried on different kinds of movie: love story, comedy, detective, horror etc.  He became one of the hottest movie star in Hong Kong even in many Asian countries.  In 1998, Chow Yun Fat landed on U.S. and made his first Hollywood movie, The Replacement Killers.  In 1999, Chow played with Oscar-winner, Jodie Foster in Anna and the King.  In 2000, Chow went back to Asia and played "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", which was successful and well-known.
